The year the Australian Dream died

Started by: Tommy Two Stroke (15437)

We used to have a few posters on Wigan World who were posting from Australia, they were people like those £10 poms you hear about, who emigrated to Australia in the 1960s and from back then when I first watched Skippy LINK I always hated the thought of living in somewhere like that

Most of the Australian posters on here were alright, except for one or two, or maybe even three, four or five of them, who were not alright, and they would follow the UK news, and if something bad had happened in the UK, they would come on here and 'gloat' about it

They would say how much better things were in Kangaroo Land.

I would reply with something like "well at least when we have a flood in the UK we only have to worry about a few rats in the water, unlike Australia where you find crocodiles and poisonous snakes nibbling at your toes if you wade through flood water"

Well just look what has happened to the Australian dream LINK

And it's too hot LINK

So give me the UK anytime

I would have gone on a £10 migration deal, I like uncrowded countryside with wild animals crawling about , They are not human haters but, they are rightly afraid of us because, We humans do more damage to the planet than they do, The Aussies now realize that and they have banned killing crocs because, the crocs and snakes all lived there before them and they respect that,

To each their own TTS. Every country has its own downsides, and it all comes down to what you're prepared to put up with. At the moment, we are alternating between heatwave and cyclone conditions. Not perfect, by any means, but there it is.

There is plenty of uncrowded countryside around Downhall Green, with wild animals crawling around, and at least in Downhall Green the animals don't try to kill yoo and neither in Downhall Green do you need a missile defense system to stop rockets from landing on your head, with air raid sirens, bomb shelters etc.

I like Downhall Green, and of course yoo have nice neighbours in Downhall Green like Whupsy
